Who we are
Friends of Lorne Parade Reserve Inc. have a long history of protecting the reserve, The reserve is the only significant open space bounded by Union Road, Whitehorse Road, Elgar Road and Cantebury Road.
The group first formed in the 1970s when the state government tried to subdivide the land and it was saved by Premier Rupert Hamer. In the 1980s, Premiers John Cain and Joan Kirner also save the reserve along with Education Minister Hon Carolyn Hogg,

The group recently incorporated and is continuing to fight to save Lorne Parade Reserve now and into the future.
